Edit for retention: find and fix flat spots

Step 1: Score the hook on its own

Run the first 15 seconds through an attention predictor. Higgsfield's free Virality Predictor gives a 0-100 score and a second-by-second attention curve. Look at two things: how far the curve dips after second 1, and whether it recovers by second 3.

Step 2: Score the rest in 15-second pieces

Split longer videos into 15-second pieces that overlap by 1 second. Mark every stretch where the curve stays flat for 2 seconds or more.

Step 3: Fix each flat spot

Step 4: Compare the curves, not the scores

Re-score the fixed version. The goal is a curve with no long flat stretches. Don't chase a higher number.

The prompt

Works in Claude Code with the Higgsfield MCP connected:

Score my video at [path] with the Virality Predictor. If it's longer than 15s,
split it into 15s pieces with a 1s overlap. List every flat spot of 2s or more with
its timestamp and what's on screen at that moment. For each one, suggest one fix:
cut, zoom in 10-15%, show the thing moving, fill the empty frame, or put the payoff
word on screen. Then re-score after I edit and compare the curves.

Checklist

1. No shot is held longer than 3 seconds without something changing.
2. Something new appears by second 2.
3. Every number or key word you say is on screen when you say it.
4. Captions are on, sized for a phone, inside the safe area.
5. No flat spot of 2+ seconds is left in the final cut.
6. The last second makes sense if the video loops back to the start.

Example

A typical talking-head video: the hook holds, then the curve goes flat at seconds 4-7 while the speaker explains the setup with nothing new on screen. Two fixes: a 10-15% zoom on the key sentence, and the one number from that sentence put on screen. Both take seconds in any editor. Then re-score and check that the flat stretch is gone.
